It is hard if not impossible to make progress training just once a week. Part of the reason for this is that kettlebells require you to learn proper technique in order to maximize efficiency and safety. In order to do this you must practice under supervision and receive qualified instruction. Any money you believe you will save training once a week will be lost due to the fact that it will take you so much longer to get anywhere. I always recommend training 2-3 times per week. It is important to understand that this is about more than just ‘getting a workout’ or burning some bodyfat. We are correcting the way you move, the way you stand, and building functional fitness aimed not just at keeping you fit now, but also well into old age. Many of the things we take for granted as being ‘just part of getting old’ are actually the results of poor posture, loss of strength, poor health, etc. Much of this is preventable. So in the end, which is more expensive; the training or the oxygen tank? A kettlebell or a Rascal Scooter? Being able to play with your grandkids someday or barely being able to get out of bed?
