PROFESSIONALISM

YOUR TIME IS VALUABLE, AND YOUR GOALS ARE IMPORTANT. AT AVERAGE TO ELITE PERFORMANCE THIS IS OUR CAREER, NOT A SIDE JOB OR SOMETHING WE’RE DOING UNTIL WE FIGURE OUT WHAT WE WANT TO DO WITH OUR LIVES. YOU CAN EXPECT US TO ALWAYS BE ON TIME, REPLY TO E-MAILS OR TEXTS IN A TIMELY MANNER, AND TO BE ENTIRELY FOCUSED ON OUR WORK WITH YOU FROM SESSION TO SESSION.

ASSESS AND ADDRESS

THE AVERAGE CLIENT LASTS ROUGHLY 6-12 WEEKS WORKING WITH A TRAINER. WHILE THERE ARE SEVERAL FACTORS THAT PLAY A PART IN THIS LIMITED LIFE SPAN, ONE SIMPLE TRUTH IS REPSONSIBLE FOR MOST OF THIS ATTRITION: THE CLIENT IS IN TOO MUCH PAIN TO CONTINUE. OUR AVERAGE CLIENT HAS BEEN WITH US FOR 3-5 YEARS. THIS IS UNHEARD OF IN THE PERSONAL TRAINING INDUSTRY. WE BELIEVE THIS IS DUE TO THE HEAVY EMPHASIS WE PLACE ON OUR INITIAL MOVEMENT EVALUATIONS, AND OUR ONGOING USE OF MOBILITY WORK TO KEEP YOU FEELING GOOD AND TRAINING WITHOUT PAIN.

TRAIN SMART AND HARD

DID YOU KNOW THAT TRUE ELITE ATHLETES ONLY SPEND ABOUT 2-6% OF THEIR TRAINING YEAR GOING AT 100% MAXIMUM EFFORT? YET JUDGING BY WHAT WE SEE ON COMMERCIALS AND INSTAGRAM YOU WOULD THINK YOU HAVE TO GO 100% ALL THE TIME TO GET RESULTS. THE TRUTH IS THAT GOING ALL OUT ALL THE TIME IS THE SUREST PATH TO FAILURE. OUR GOAL IS TO DETERMINE THE “MINIMUM EFFECTIVE DOSE” OF TRAINING TO GET YOU TO YOUR GOALS WITHOUT MAKING YOU HATE EXERCISE. WE ALSO USE FACTORS SUCH AS YOUR STRUCTURE AND NERVOUS SYSTEM RESPONSE TO DETERMINE THE HIGHEST PAYOFF EXERCISES FOR EACH CLIENT. NOT EVERYONE IS BUILT TO DO BARBELL SQUATS AND NOT EVERYONE HAS THE CNS ENDURANCE TO PERFORM HIGH REPETITION EXERCISE. TOGETHER WE’LL FIND YOUR BEST PATH.

RECOVERY AND NUTRITION

THIS PART IS CRUCIALLY IMPORTANT TO YOUR CONTINUED PROGRESS. WE WILL ADVISE YOU ON SUBJECTS RANGING FROM HOW TO IMPROVE SLEEP QUALITY TO THE BEST WAY TO WORK AT YOUR COMPUTER. OUR IN-HOUSE MASTER NUTRTIONIST IS ALSO AVAILABLE TO HELP YOU NAVIGATE THE MAZE OF INFORMATION OUT THERE ON FOOD AND HABIT CHANGE. UNLIKE MOST NUTRITIONISTS WHO ARE FOCUSED STRICTLY ON WEIGHT LOSS, EMILY UNDERSTANDS THE NEEDS OF ATHLETES AS WELL AS THOSE JUST WANTING TO LOSE A FEW POUNDS.

PRIVATE STUDIO

LONG AGO WE LEARNED THAT OUR METHOD WORKS BEST IN A PRIVATE STUDIO. WE HAVE AN 800 SQUARE FOOT PRIVATE STUDIO IN PALO ALTO WHERE YOU WILL RECEIVE THE ATTENTION THAT YOU DESERVE. THERE ARE NEVER MORE THAN TWO TRAINERS WORKING AT ANY GIVEN TIME, WE HAVE PRIVATE PARKING AND SHOWER ACCESS IF NEEDED.
